Olympiacos Leads the Way in Sustainability through the ESMIS Program

Olympiacos S.F.P. continues to lead the way in European programs supported by the European Commission through Erasmus+, in which it actively participates. Our team recently held a scientific seminar for the ESMIS program (Enhance Sustainable Measures in Sports Facilities).

The ESMIS program aims to promote sustainability, inclusivity, and innovation in sports facilities across Europe, responding to the pressing need for a green transition in the sports sector. Through the development of tools, guidelines, and knowledge-sharing platforms, ESMIS seeks to support sports facility managers in adopting sustainable practices, positively impacting both sports and related sectors.

During the seminar, a discussion was held among representatives of sports facility administrations and sports clubs, focusing on how the ESMIS program can contribute to upgrading sports facilities. Particular emphasis was placed on the need for collaboration between stakeholders to continuously exchange views and best practices, as well as the possibility of using automated systems that generate real-time data to make informed decisions on improving infrastructure.

The ESMIS program is funded by Erasmus+, the European Commission's program for education, training, youth, and sport, which aims to enhance skills and modernize education and training systems across Europe.

As a key partner and one of the largest multi-sport organizations in the world, Olympiacos is actively engaged in European Commission and Erasmus+ programs, reaffirming its commitment to innovation and sustainability in sports.
