The kick-off meeting of “My Olympic experience’’ in Piraeus!

The three-day meetings organized by Olympiacos in Piraeus ended on Sunday with the opening meeting of the European project "My Olympic Experience" under the coordination of the club General Secretary, Mrs. Christina Tsiligkiri.

The Levski-Sport For All President, Mr. Lusien Veltchev, the club General  Secretary, Mrs. Vanina Milanova and the representative of Lazio Chess, Mrs. Nadia Ottavi were hosted at the "Red 1925" Hall of the Stadium "G. Karaiskakis” and were informed by the staff of the coordinator, Olympiacos for the final details of the project. Moreover, the HASK Mladost International Coordinator, Mr. Bojan Mijatovic and the representative of Red Star, Mr. Mile Samardzic were also present at the meeting as EMCA members in the framework of the participation in the Erasmus+ programme. 

The Olympiacos delegation carried out a general presentation of the project outlining the main objectives, the range of activities and the communication policy for its better dissemination. At the end of the meeting, the participants agreed on the timetable of the actions and now, are focusing on the preparation of the target audience, the training of the coaches and the main implementation.

"My Olympic Experience" is a co-funded European Union program and aims to encourage and support the organization, development and coordination of sport activities for "all". During its implementation, the participating clubs are expected to organize multisport activities for fans and citizens of their local communities in the model of the Olympic Games, spreading the message and values that these Games represent and improving the sport spirit and cultural exchanges between the participants. Moreover, it pursues to facilitate the integration of minorities in local communities and fight the discrimination.

In addition to the procedural part of the two projects that Olympiacos is leading, the club representatives had the opportunity to discuss new sports initiatives at European level as well as about the ways of further EMCA development. Olympiacos’ proposals received a positive response securing the universal acceptance of the attendees. In addition, the club organized social events for the foreign visitors such as a visit to the Acropolis and the ‘’Kallimarmaro’’ Stadium as much as meals in Piraeus. All participants were impressed and fully satisfied with the organization and hospitality by Olympiacos, recognizing the greatness of Olympiacos and its leading role in the EMCA in recent years. Now, the clubs are focusing on the implementation of the projects and the preparation of new Erasmus+ proposals which will be submitted to the European Commission in early April.
