Successful Completion of the European Project Handball International Education Project (HIEP)

The European project Handball International Education Project (HIEP) has been successfully completed. The project was implemented under the Erasmus+ Sport Programme and co-funded by the European Union. Its completion was marked by the final transnational meeting of all project partners, which took place in Piraeus on 16–17 January 2026, at the Peace and Friendship Stadium, hosted by Olympiacos S.F.P. (Amateur Section) and CJT Solutions.

HIEP was a three-year European cooperation initiative aimed at upgrading handball coaches’ education, promoting inclusion and equality in sport, and integrating innovative and digital tools into sports education and training.

Throughout the project:

a comprehensive Educational Programme was designed and implemented,

a Handball Coaches’ Manual was developed,

an e-learning educational platform was created,

international and local training activities and sporting events were carried out, and

the impact of the developed methodologies was evaluated at European level.

The contribution of Olympiacos Syndesmos Filathlon Peiraios (Olympiacos S.F.P.) was pivotal. The club actively participated in the development of the project’s educational content, contributing to both the design of the Educational Programme and the formulation of the Coaches’ Manual, drawing on its extensive experience and expertise in handball development.

At the same time, CJT Solutions, as a Greek partner based in Piraeus, played a key role in the technical support and implementation of the project through the development of the e-learning platform. In addition, by organizing communication activities and dissemination events, CJT Solutions significantly contributed to the successful completion of HIEP, strengthening its connection with the local and European sports community.

The final transnational meeting in Piraeus represented the concluding phase of the project, during which the project results were presented, the overall implementation was reviewed, and the sustainability and future exploitation of the project deliverables were discussed.

The successful completion of HIEP leaves a strong legacy: a comprehensive set of tools and methodologies that can support the qualitative development of handball and the education of coaches across Europe.
