Another win for the qualification to the Final-8!

Olympiacos did another win being closer to Genoa. Having a superb performance in the first half, the men’s water polo team was dominant against OSC Budapest 10-7 for the 10th day of Champions League. This was the 8th victory for the Reds reaching 25 points and continues their impressive presence making another step for the first position of the group and the qualification to the Final-8 held in Genoa in June.

For another game, Olympiacos started the game well. Fountoulis did the first goal and Gounas widened the margin to 2-0. Mourikis scored two minutes before the end of the first period and Obradovic did 4-0 with an impressive shot. 

Olympiacos had an excellent defensive performance withouting conceding a goal for fourteen minutes. Then, Gennidounias increased the difference to five goals and Fountoulis did 6-0. Randelovic reduced to 6-1 but Mylonakis replied. The first half ended with a goal by Mylonakis (7-1). 

In the second half the two teams played more freely but Olympiacos kept the game under control. Mourikis scored his second goal to 8-2 at 4:47. The Hungarians scored two consecutive goals reducing to 8-4 before the end of the third period but Gounas raised the difference to five goals again. Dervisis did 10-6 at 3:15 before the end. Olympiacos secured the 8th victory in the tournament, being at the top of the group A. Fountoulis, Mourikis and Gounas were the first scorers of the game with two goals.
